In today's news:
Wigs, Waiting, and Window Shopping
Update: Still in Review Land
Everyone seems eager for an update—and by everyone, I mean everyone except me. Honestly, I’m fine waiting; the suspense doesn’t exactly keep me up at night, only my cats (and my crazy thoughts).
Dr. Schumer’s office (my medical oncologist) called to let me know they’re still reviewing a few things (nothing alarming, I promise). With Monday being a holiday, they’re running a bit behind, but she’s expected to call by the end of the day tomorrow.
Dr. Dominici, my breast oncologist, has confirmed it’s definitely surgery first. All the oncology experts agree—they need to clear the margins and remove the skin in the breast before starting chemo. Now they’re just working on lining up their schedules (which I can imagine is like herding cats). It’s a go—I just don’t know when yet. And before you ask, I’ll tell you as soon as I know.
In the meantime, I’ll be dedicating my entire February 4th to Dana-Farber, cramming in every last test, scan, and poke they need so I can avoid another trip until chemo. Ambitious? Probably. Wishful thinking? Absolutely.
So, to my comic relief crew, emotional support humans, my ride-and-die squad and anyone eagerly awaiting the latest scoop, take a deep breath. I’ll let you know when there’s news—cross my heart. In the meantime, the suspense is politely waiting its turn.
In Other News: Hair Goals Incoming
Now, onto something way more exciting: Charlotte is taking me to the Salon at 10 Newbury tomorrow to be fitted for a wig. Apparently, it’s best to do this before treatments start, so here we go. And honestly? I’m kind of looking forward to it. For the first time in my life, I can walk into a salon, show them a picture, and actually get the exact color and style I want—no awkward "this isn’t quite what I envisioned" moments. Plus, no bad hair days?
Bonus: Retail Therapy Bound
The cherry on top? Charlotte might take me shopping too. Nothing like some retail therapy to make wig-fitting day a little more festive. Who knows, maybe I’ll find a whole new look to match the hair. Yay for Newbury Street adventures and good times ahead!
Activated: Nesting Mode
Keeping it short and simple today so I can live my life without stressing over timing. Until that call comes, I’m only worrying about things I can change—this isn’t one of them. Meanwhile, I’ll be nesting like I’m preparing for a baby, complete with deep-cleaning, obsessive organizing, and rearranging things no one but me will notice. (Sorry Sam. Your room has officially been turned into a guest room, Don't worry though - I left some of your random stuff, just to keep the spirit alive).
Your Challenge: Text or Comment
My ride and die, always following me to the end. Text me or Comment your favorite cleaning hack—bonus points if it doesn’t involve me doing more work! Also, keep those songs coming! And sugar is back in!
No great cleaning hacks - it’s all work to me:). More pumpkin muffins coming your way - Greenfield family favorites 🥰
ReplyDeleteDoes this count? Instead of harsh chemicals like Lysol, etc. I use products with white vinegar, eucalyptus, citrus, sage and lavendar. I find a lot of them at TJ Max. Another one of my favorite songs is Higher Love, Steve Winwood. I love my 80s music. :)
